Organizing family help during cancer treatment
When treatment fills the calendar, share the everyday work.
The person receiving cancer treatment from their care team gets to decide what help feels useful. Use Allayra to assign family tasks and record agreed details, from a ride to a grocery delivery.
Build the plan around the person’s wishes and the schedule supplied by their care team. Start with the next few appointments and the household tasks that need coverage. Choose what information they want shared and who should receive it.
Example family tasks during a treatment week
These are fictional organizing examples. Adapt them to the person’s wishes and the instructions you have received.
| Task | Who | When | Done when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Confirm transport for the scheduled visit | Agreed driver | The day before | Pickup time and the return plan are confirmed |
| Arrange the grocery order the household requested | Friend or relative | The agreed delivery day | The household knows when it will arrive |
| Share the update the person approved | Chosen family contact | After the visit, when they are ready | Only the agreed information is shared |
In Allayra, add the task, assign a circle member, choose a due date and put the handoff details in the notes. Start with one real responsibility.
Make the next handoff clear
Plan for a helper to become unavailable: put an agreed backup contact in the task notes and tell them when help is needed. Review open tasks with the person receiving support. A shared list can make a gap visible; it cannot guarantee availability or that care was provided.
Questions about using Allayra
Can friends help as well as relatives?
Yes. A care circle can include trusted adult friends and relatives within the membership’s member limit. Everyone should understand what information the circle shares and what responsibilities they have agreed to take on.
Will the app connect to the oncology team?
Allayra does not automatically connect to a hospital portal, oncology records or a treatment schedule. Enter the practical information you are authorized to share and use your care team’s normal channels for medical questions.
